Taking time to connect with nature is one of the best things we can do to support children’s wellbeing and development - and our own.

I'm Kathy Broadhead - educator, nature lover, and nature connection guide.

I've spent over 25 years working in education in NZ and abroad, and in 2017 I created Nature Library after years of witnessing the disconnect between children and nature and dreaming of helping kids - and the wonderful women in their lives - reconnect.

I hold a Masters in Education, Diploma of Teaching and Bachelor of Science - though in my experience, Nature is the best teacher of all. My programmes are nature connection based - combining intentional learning, child-led experiences, and free nature play. I value collaborative learning between child, educator and nature, and this beautifully supports the whole child, and children as individuals.

Nature has always been my greatest teacher - a constant source of learning, growth, healing, support and wonder. I've experienced her phenomenal healing power over and over, and she supports my wellbeing every single day.

I adore sharing her magic with children and women alike - and seeing the profound connections that come from that. With nature, with self, with others.

Alongside my work with children, I have been quietly sharing nature connection experiences with women for many years - seasonal walks, gatherings, and nature-based practices that support women to return to themselves and the rhythms of life. This work, born from almost 20 years of lived experience, personal study and a few special teachers, is now finding its fuller expression through Flow with Her - my dedicated women's space. Local in-person experiences can be found here, and online offerings over at Flow with Her.

I am grateful to the teachers, mentors and lineages - academic and nature-based alike - that have shaped and deepened this path along the way.

Welcome to my world. I am so happy you’re here!

With love, Kathy

With Gratitude ~ Teachers & Mentors

Above all, I am grateful to Nature herself - my greatest and most constant teacher. A relationship that began in childhood and has been walked with growing intentionality for almost 20 years. She has been my guide, my healer, my anchor and my home.

The work I share has also been shaped by many human teachers and mentors - and I believe in honouring those who have walked before me and alongside me.

In nature and environmental education: Dr Chris Eames, my thesis mentor whose work in environmental education was foundational when I first began this journey.

In teacher training: Sheree Tainui Fountain and Maxime Osterman, whose mentorship shaped how I support children.

In seasonal wisdom: the writings and teachings of Rebecca Campbell, Danu Forest and Juliet Batten have been a significant part of my seasonal wisdom journey.

In flower and plant medicine: Amy McComb, who first introduced me to plant medicine, and Elizabeth Heck and Wild Folk, with whom I am continuing my learning.

The personal experience of being in Jo Bell Cummings' container, The Wheel of Love, rekindled my love of flower essences and deepened my personal connection with the seasons.

I also feel the quiet presence of my ancestral lineage - rooted in the lands of Scotland and Ireland - whose ancient wisdom and connection with the natural world I carry within me, even where the threads are still being uncovered.

I am grateful to all who have shaped this path.

I’d love to connect with you ~ please say hello here
